Admission Information for International Applicants
GRADUATE SCHOOL OF SCIENCE
2-year Master’s program
Applicants who meet all of the following requirements (1) and (2), and who also meet one of the qualification requirements in A through C.
(1) Those who do not have Japanese nationality and have not obtained a permanent residence permit from Japan.
(2)Those who have enough Japanese language ability to take classes at the university, as most of the classes are conducted in Japanese.
A: Those who have graduated at the time of the application from a university defined in Article 83 of the School Education Act of Japan, or
B: Those who have completed 16 years of school education in a foreign country by the time of the application or
C: Those who have been individually screened by the Graduate School of Science for admission and have been recognized as having academic abilities equivalent or superior to those of university graduates.

*If you wish to cancel your enrollment after completing the enrollment procedures, you must notify the Office of Graduate Admissions by 3:00 p.m. on September 12th, and we will refund the entire amount of the above payment except for the enrollment fee. If you fail to do so by the deadline, the fee will not be returned for any reason.

3-year PhD program
ENTRY SEMESTER: FALL 2023
Those who do not have Japanese nationality and have not obtained a permanent residence permit from Japan and meet any of the following requirements.
(1) Those who have a master’s degree at the time of the application.
(2) Those who have been awarded a degree equivalent to a master’s degree in a foreign country.
(3) Those designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Notification No. 118, 1989)
(4) Applicants who have been individually screened for admission by the Graduate School (*) and have reached the age of 24.
*Applicants who wish to apply in (4) above must contact the Office of the Graduate Admissions before applying by June 30.
