Globalization has impacted nearly every aspect of modern life. Just like our social or economic activities, the higher education has been shaped and changed by global phenomena as well. The vision for the internationalization of Toho University is to equip our students with intellectual knowledge and practical skills as well as strong senses of ethics and cross-cultural competencies and to prepare them ready to contribute to the world.
Our students and academic staff have greatly benefited by the various programs or projects supported by our partner institutions. The number of international students we hosted has been increasing and we are very proud of those who are now back to their countries and contributing to their community and countries with their strong expertise and skills gained in Toho University. Toho University will expand its global network to develop authentic learning and research environments.
It is our responsibility to provide quality education to our students at all times and all places regardless of their majors. At the same time, we are strongly aware of that the higher education has been required to meet the global standard. Studies of health and natural sciences are no exception. Therefore, we continuously strive to improve our academic programs by addressing global concepts and perspectives, and challenge each of which will meet accreditation criteria determined by internationally recognized accrediting organizations, such as Japan Accreditation Council for Medical Education(JACME), Japan Accreditation Board for Pharmaceutical Education (JABPE), and Japan Accreditation Board for Engineering Education(JABEE). Student cultural experiences will continue to be focused, but while we develop the credit transfer system, from the institutional to the country level, there will be more credit-based exchanges with foreign institutions.
Toho University will enhance both inward and outward mobility by identifying and providing up-to-date information about our curriculum and research projects to both domestic and international students and scholars. We will continue striving to promote more active collaborations, satisfy intellectual curiosities of all concerned, and demonstrate the vital role in contributing to society, within or beyond our campus.
