Admission Information for International Applicants

Applicants who meet one of the qualification requirements  1 through 5.

(1) Those who have graduated from a university or are expected to graduate by March 2024

(2) Those who have been designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Notification No. 5 of 1953)

(3) Those who have received a bachelor’s degree from the National Institution for Academic Degrees and Quality Enhancement of Higher Education pursuant to the provisions of Article 104, Paragraph 4 of the School Education Act, or those who will receive a bachelor’s degree by March 31, 2024.

(4) Those who have completed or are expected to complete 16 years of school education in a foreign country by March 2024.

(5) Those who have been recognized by the Graduate School of Nursing as having academic abilities equivalent or superior to those of university graduates.

Note: Applicants who wish to apply according to 5 above must undergo an application qualification screening prior to application.

All applicants must have an interview with a potential supervisor before applying, and then receive guidance on their research plan.

–  Certificate of (expected) graduation
*A certificate of graduation (expected) issued by the president of the university (dean), junior college, college of technology, or college of special training.
*If the applicant has received nursing education (nurse, public health nurse, midwife) at an educational institution other than a university, the applicant must also submit graduation certificates from all such institutions.
*Those who have completed 16 years of school education in a foreign country must submit a certificate of completion.

–  Academic transcript
*The transcript must be issued and sealed by the president of the university, or dean of the faculty, junior college, college of technology, or college of special training, unless if  transcripts issued by an automatic certificate issuing machine.
Those who have received nursing education (nurse, public health nurse, midwife) at educational institutions other than universities must also submit transcripts from all institutions attended.

–  A copy of the degree awarding certificate or degree certificate
*Applicants who have been awarded a bachelor’s degree by the National Institution for Academic Degrees and Quality Enhancement of Higher Education must submit a bachelor’s degree award certificate, and applicants who expect to be awarded a bachelor’s degree must submit a degree award application acceptance certificate.

–  Face photos
*Two photos of the applicant’s upper body, 4cm in height x 3cm in width, taken within 3 months prior to the date of application, facing front, without a cap.

–  If the applicant is a foreigner, submit a copy of either a special permanent resident certificate or a resident card (alien registration card)

–  Proof of payment of the application fee

–  A copy of the notification of the result of the screening of application qualifications review

Toho University handles personal information collected through application procedures carefully and will use only for the screening procedure, entrance procedure, survey, registrar service as well as student service.

*Once the application documents have been received, no changes will be made after submission.

*The above is for those in the 2-year program. Please contact the Office of Graduate Admission if apply to the 3-year program.

*If you wish to cancel your enrollment after completing the enrollment procedures, you must notify the Office of Graduate Admissions by 15:00 p.m. on March 29, 2024, and we will refund the entire amount of the above payment except for the enrollment fee. If you fail to do so by the deadline, the fee will not be returned for any reason.
