On June 30, 2021, a virtual signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Thomas Jefferson University and Toho University was held.
Thomas Jefferson University (Philadelphia, USA) was founded in 1824 as the fifth medical school in the U.S. Today, it has become a highly reputable comprehensive university offering a wide range of academic fields including medicine, nursing, pharmacy, engineering, and liberal arts. More than 8,000 students are studying at the university. Thomas Jefferson University has 14 affiliated hospitals, 7 of which are accredited as Magnet hospitals, providing advanced and high quality medical services.
At the ceremony, Dr. Mark L. Tykoncinski, Provost of Thomas Jefferson University, and Dr. Ken Takamatsu, President of Toho University, expressed their excitements and high expectations for the new partnership, and signed the MOU in the presence of the deans of Faculties of Medicine and Nursing of both universities, and other faculty members and administrative staff.
