New Partnership with China Pharmaceutical University

Toho University Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and China Pharmaceutical University School of Traditional Chinese Pharmacy signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Academic Cooperation on June 26, 2019.
China Pharmaceutical University was originally established in 1936 as National College of Pharmacy that was the first college specialized in pharmacy in China. In 1956, it was renamed as Nanjing College of Pharmacy. Up to now, it has been China Pharmaceutical University on the occasion of a merger with Nanging College of Traditional Chinese Pharmacy in 1986. The University has been known for its excellence in pharmaceutical education and research not only in China but also in the world.

Prof. Yoshio Tanaka, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Prof. Keisuke Kato, Director of International Communication Center, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Associate Prof. Wei Li attended the signing ceremony held at China Pharmaceutical University. Prof. Tanaka and Prof. Ninghua Tan, Dean of China Pharmaceutical University School of Traditional Chinese Pharmacy, signed the agreement together.

Before signing the agreement, Prof. Tanaka was invited to the Nanjing International Symposium jointly hosted by Nanjing city and China Pharmaceutical University and he delivered his special lecture, “Evaluation of the effects of antidepressants on lower urinary tract functions.”

Singing a new partnership agreement with China Pharmaceutical University, Toho University has 36 partner institutions worldwide. (As of June 2019)
