On June 29, 2022, the Faculty Pharmaceutical Sciences invited Dr. Aya Ozaki, a graduate of Toho University, who is currently an assistant professor at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), to give a lecture. The topic of the lecture was “Clinical Pharmacy Education and Circulatory Clinical Research (Big Data Analysis) in the U.S.” She introduced the skills required of clinical pharmacists, U.S. pharmacy education, and the barriers pharmacists must overcome and their prospects. The lecture also introduced clinical research on the issue of healthcare disparities and appropriate drug use based on analysis of clinical big data.
The lecture was broadcasted live and in Zoom format, and about 80 students and faculty members attended.
After the lecture, a round-table discussion was held between Dr. Ozaki and the faculty and students of Toho University.
