The 8th Cross-cultural Exchange Event

On December 7, 2019, Toho University held the 8th cross-cultural exchange event. The aim of this event is deepening international understanding through mutual exchange between international and Japanese students. This year, 27 people, including university staff, international students, and Japanese students, participated in the event and visited Koedo in Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture. Here, they strolled through the traditional Japanese streets and enjoyed the famous unagi kama-meshi for lunch. At a soy sauce factory, a specialty of Kawagoe City, the participants observed the traditional method of making soy sauce, which has been in use for 190 years, and deepened their understanding of Japanese culture.

After the walk in Kawagoe, we dispersed at Tokyo Station. Some of the students enjoyed the illumination in Marunouchi afterwards.

Cross-cultural exchange events have been held once a year since 2012. International Communication Center will continue to actively develop an environment where both international and Japanese students can interact with each other as we sincerely hope that the exchange goes beyond the boundaries of faculties and countries.
